Fall 2022 Event Update
Hello, ACE friends and members:
We hope you are doing well. This is just a quick update on ACE and local Asian Cultural events for Fall. If you have questions about events, contact us at acesalinas2014@gmail.com.
Hosted by the Monterey Bay Chinese Association, the 4th Chinese Cultural Festival will take place at Custom House Plaza on Oct. 16. Details below:
The venue for Carol Lynn McKibben’s reading on Oct. 29 has changed to Salinas Confucius Church in Chinatown. Downtown Book & Sound will have a table at the event, where the book will be on sale. A portion of the proceeds from book sales will benefit ACE. We look forward to seeing you!
Artist Binh Danh’s daguerreotype project, Yo Soy / I Am Chinatown, Salinas, opens today at CSUMB’s Visual & Public Art Dept. Gallery. The project focuses on changes in Salinas’ multicultural Chinatown—past, present, and future. Visit the opening reception and artist talk on October 6 at CSUMB. Details below:
Just a reminder that the deadline for short-essay submissions and images for ACE’s Our Chinatown book will be November 1st. Keep in mind: your recollections of the neighborhood are what matters to us; if you feel that your writing skills are not strong, we’ll be happy to help you with editing. Contact us at acesalinas2014@gmail.com if you have questions.
Tickets for ACE’s annual Tri-Tip Take Out Dinners are now available. Pick up your meals (feeds 4 to 6!) on Saturday, Nov. 5, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Buddhist Temple of Salinas, 14 California St. in Salinas. Your purchase helps to develop ACE’s cultural and educational programs in Chinatown. Advance Ticket Sales Only. We also accept Venmo.
